The 3rd EUROPLAN National Conference took place on 17 November 2017 in Copenhagen, Denmark. The National Alliance, Rare Diseases Denmark was the organiser.
The emphasis of the conference was on the implementation of the Danish national strategy for rare diseases. The report of the conference will help inform on the evaluation status of the strategy.
In conjunction with various experts (patients’ associations, institutions), the following themes were selected for discussion:
- Sector cooperation and coordination (challenges in partnerships between the health sector and the social sector)
- Patient education, coping skills and empowerment
- International cooperation (including European Reference Networks)
- Hospital services for rare disease patients
Several suggestions for improving the current system were made for each of the above themes.
